SILAA

OUR MISSION

Someone I Love's an Angel" (SILAA) was written with four specific purposes in mind: to offer expression, remembrance, hope, and healing.

Composed especially for the children who lost parents, grandparents, and other loved ones in the attack on America, its primary purpose is to provide comfort for survivors of September 11th. But because of it's universal and all-encompassing nature, our most fervent desire is that it will also become a "standard"…a legacy of love for "children of all ages" everywhere, in special remembrance of those lost September 11th, 2001.

To best serve these purposes, the song was written with both specific and nonspecific lyrics, and with two very different arrangements:

• As a 4 part, "interactive" nursery rhyme-style song, for children to learn and use on their own to begin to process their grief by finding positive expression for their loss.

• As a choral presentation for children's choirs to perform to commemorate September 11th, or (with its nonspecific lyrics) to offer comfort for any loss.

Lastly, SILAA is a promise that we will never forget what happened on September 11th, 2001, and a vow to work together to rise above the tragedy-individually, as a nation, and as a world.
